Do Not Ignore the Marbles

We have lived in our home almost 29 years. The family that we bought it off had 2 boys and it quickly became apparent that the boys liked to play marbles! Because, over the years, marbles would surface in the soil. On Monday I found another one and popped it into my pocket and later into the kitchen counter.

The next morning when pottering in the kitchen without my glasses on, I accidentally knocked the marble onto the floor. As I listened to it bounce along, this message was given to me, based on two scriptures – Amos 9:9 “…as a grain is shaken in a sieve, and not a pebble will reach the ground.” And Rev 19:7  “Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory! For the wedding of the lamb HAS come, and His bride has made herself ready.”

Just as tilling the soil brings to the surface hidden marbles – there are areas with issues in our hearts, buried, hidden from His cleansing and healing light. Have you regrets or shame? Do they come into your mind? Or maybe it is a hurt in the past? Does that time pop up in your mind? Or maybe it is sin. You made excuses at the time so it could be forgotten, buried, but it too at times, pops into your mind?

All these are like the marbles. The difference is that our heavenly Father knows where they are hidden. He sifts the soil of our hearts to reveal to us buried issues. He loves us so much; He is letting us see where these ‘marbles’ are. This is His help in our sanctification, so that at the Marriage Feast of the Lamb, we, the bride will be seen to have made ourselves ready.

The Lord is encouraging us not to ignore the ‘marbles’ when they are sifted and are revealed.

Praise Him!
